Quick Facts: TOTALLY FREE PICTURES - All images that you can see as a visitor can be used for FREE, provided you prominently credit Primal Pictures and provide a link back to our site. You may not sell the image itself. See Licensing Agreement for details. ROYALTY-FREE PICTURES - For a one-time fee, which is listed with each image you get access to the large size image and you may use it in a single project provided that any tangible editions made of your project do not exceed 10,000 units (for example calendars and postcards). You need to provide a small credit and link URL somewhere within your project. You may not sell the image itself. See Licensing Agreement for details. Note that there is a minimum $19.95 charge per purchase transaction, so you may want to pick a few pictures to reach this minimum price. EXTENDED RIGHTS - To obtain rights that go beyond what is possible above, to suit your project, please contact us for a quote. SPECIAL REQUESTS - If you cannot find what you want on the site, please email us with a description. We have thousands of images we have not yet scanned and/or uploaded and we may be able to find and scan what you are looking for. Some small extra fees may apply. How to Use this Site: We have tried to make your search and viewing experience as simple and pleasurable as possible. No registration is required. But you must not set your browser to reject "cookies", otherwise the Lightbox will not work. Our cookies do not do anything on your computer except keep track of your image selections. You may search for your areas of interest either by using our Keyword search function or by looking into the catalog catagories. The search function will look for your keyword in various areas: the image file name, the image description, the catalog category and the keywords cell. The LOOK AT SERIES link under some thumbnails indicates that there are other images available that were shot of the same subject or at the same time and place. Some images in a series will not be keyworded or categorized the same way. Some images in a series will not appear on the search pages at all unless they are found through a LOOK AT SERIES link; this is because they may be very similar to other pictures in the series and we have opted not to clutter your search results with many similar images. Most images are listed in more than one catagory to account for the range of possible uses for a given image. When you find an image that you think you might be interested in looking at again, or buying, you will click the ADD TO LIGHTBOX link that appears in various places. When you are ready to purchase some images, go to your LIGHTBOX, remove any images you do not want, then complete the purchase routine asked of you. After you have paid through PayPal with your credit card, a special page will be generated that gives you links to your images in their large size. If you have any problem at any stage, we will be able to clear things up and get you your images within a day. In addition to the instant payment and image access that is possible through PayPal, you can also telephone us with your credit card order or mail us a check.
Cautions: IMAGE SIZE - Before you purchase an image please check the pixel dimensions of the large image file; this is available on the image information page. Sizes do vary significantly. Some images may not be large enough for what you need. LEGAL LIABILITY - Very few images had model or property releases obtained. In some cases a release can still be obtained. When you buy and use an image you take on all legal responsibility.
Licensing Agreement: The terms of this Agreement shall apply between Primal Pictures and any person and/or legal entity (licensee) that purchases the rights to any Images provided by Primal Pictures whether on this website or provided by some other means (referred to herinafter as Image or Images). A legal binding contract shall come into effect upon Licensee obtaining access to any Image by paying the quoted license fee. All Images and the copyright rights therein, shall remain at all times the sole and exclusive property of Primal Pictures, including any and all derived uses of the Image in any other work, form or media. This agreement is subject to Primal Pictures actually receiving bona fide full payment for the license rights desired by Licensee. Licensee is not entitled to a refund of payment under any circumstances except where delivery by Primal Pictures is not in accordance with promises on this website. This includes but is not limited to circumstances where Licensee opts not to make use of the Image(s). Primal Pictures grants Licensee limited rights to use the Image(s) specified upon purchase, subject to payment in full of the fee. Usage rights are in perpetuity, throughout the universe, in all media, except that a maximum of 10,000 copies may be published. The rights are for a single-use single-project application. No rights are granted prior to payment in full. Licensee further agrees that publication of Image(s) without payment in full constitutes copyright infringement by Licensee. Any rights granted by Primal Pictures unless otherwise stated are not for exclusive use by Licensee. Primal pictures may further exploit any and all Images licensed by Licensee unless otherwise agreed to. Once obtaining the right to use an Image for a single use, Licensee may alter the image any way Licensee requires including cropping, distorting, sampling, filtering, and coloring, etc. Licensee must credit Primal Pictures with a copyright notice somewhere within a visible portion of the work or project that incorporates the Image. The web URL, www.primalpics.com should also appear, especially if the Image is being use in a web medium. Licensee may negotiate with Primal Pictures for a use which does not require credit. Images may not be used in any way that is defamatory, violates the rights of third parties (including such third parties' rights of copyright, privacy, publicity, or other tangible or intangible property), or is otherwise illegal or obscene, or that results in damage to the reputation of Primal Pictures. No model, property or other release exists unless provided in writing to Licensee by the Creator. Licensee is aware that many elements in the Images such as recognizable persons, works of art, buildings, etc, may provoke invasion of privacy and other infringement issues. Licensee hereby assumes complete legal responsibility for the liability ramifications of incorporating a Primal Pictures Image into Licensee's work. Licensee indemnifies, holds harmless and agrees to defend Primal Pictures against all claims, liability, damages, costs and expenses, including legal fees and expenses and/or costs of collection services used to obtain payment from Licensee, arising out of any and all uses of Images by Licensee, including claims for defamation or liable or infringement of rights of copyright, publicity, privacy or other tangible or intangible property, and (b) any breach of this agreement by Licensee. The terms set forth in this agreement represent our entire agreement and no variation shall be considered valid and binding unless signed to in writing by both parties. Primal Pictures may opt to grant minor variances by email message, however any substantial variances, special quotes and arrnagements etc, must be confirmed in writing and signed to by both parties.
